Minimum Professional Experience: 5 years
Minimum Industry Experience: 3 years (SBU & GSS)
Role Overview
The Shipmanagement Head is responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing standards and programs to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant vessel operations. This role ensures fleet reliability and availability, timely departures and arrivals, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations while maintaining cost control and high crew performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Safety Management

Manage day-to-day shipmanagement operations ensuring vessels meet the highest safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Oversee vessel availability according to plotted schedules, ensuring on-time departures and arrivals as per Dyno Schedule.

Ensure port operational efficiency, including hatch cover operations and lashing/unlashing.

Implement and maintain the company safety management system fleetwide.

Conduct regular vessel inspections, ensuring timely completion of internal and external reports.

Ensure compliance with applicable maritime laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Technical & Maintenance Oversight

Implement and monitor shipboard maintenance and repair programs, including dry dockings.

Approve dry docking specifications and major repair works before tendering.

Monitor and control operational budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.

Approve orders, invoices, and payments within authorization limits.
Quality & Compliance

Ensure prompt resolution of audit findings and non-conformances.

Monitor vessel performance and drive continuous operational improvements.
People & Performance Management

Ensure the department is staffed with qualified and competent personnel.

Oversee crew and master assignments to maintain the highest standards.

Implement training and development programs for both land and sea staff.

Drive succession planning for key positions.

Execute competency and performance evaluations, with interventions for underperformance.

Foster personnel engagement and retention aligned with company values.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering
-
Licensed Mechanical or Marine Engineer (MARINA or PRC)
-
Maritime technical background with project management experience

Physically fit for onboard vessel inspections
-
Strong troubleshooting, technical analysis, and leadership skills

PMS (Planned Maintenance Systems) experience

Proficient in MS Office applications

Strong knowledge of budget creation and cost control

Team player with excellent communication skills
Experience:

Minimum 5 years in the same industry

Preferably 2 years in Preventive Maintenance Systems
