Position: Chief Engineer
Required License: Mechanical or Marine Engineering (MARINA or PRC License)
Minimum Professional Experience: 5 years
Minimum Industry Experience: 3 years (SBU & GSS)

Role Overview

The Chief Engineer serves as PMS Administrator and Trainer, responsible for the quality monitoring of the PMS database, ensuring vessel maintenance compliance, and supporting the technical team through planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to managed vessels regarding PMS database issues.

  • Plan and schedule preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Research industry technical updates and share relevant information with the Technical Team.

  • Contribute to improving technical processes for efficient vessel machinery operations.

  • Monitor class, flag, and maritime regulations affecting PMS, and coordinate with ISM for SMS adjustments.

  • Generate PMS statistics, reports, and analysis when required.

  • Administer PMS database to ensure work orders align with machinery maintenance needs per maker’s manuals and applicable legislation.

  • Provide technical input to superintendents on requisition of components and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering

  • Licensed Mechanical or Marine Engineer (MARINA or PRC)

  • Maritime technical background with project management experience

  • Strong troubleshooting, technical analysis, and leadership skills

  • PMS background and knowledge in budget creation

  • Proficient in MS Office applications

  • Physically fit for onboard vessel work

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the same industry

  • Preferably 2 years experience with Preventive Maintenance Systems
